Melissa also serves as the Executive Director of the non-profit organization – the JRN Foundation, an organization she created in honor of her brother, Jacob who passed away in December 2011. He was born with Cerebral Palsy and was a strong proponent of obtaining a higher education. Therefore, to honor his legacy, Melissa created the JRN Foundation to award scholarships to graduating high school seniors attending college, and college students with disabilities.
